Fellowship is just church jargon for getting together and having fun, and we know how to do that at Manotick United Church. But it is often more than that. Our social activities are a good opportunity to connect with others and make lasting relationships. Here are some of the fun things we do together:

Book Club

Book ClubOur book club operates from October to June each year and offers an opportunity to read interesting books and then discuss them in a group setting. We generally read about seven or eight books a year, taking about six weeks to read each book, and then meet on a Tuesday evening at 7:00pm (by Zoom) for our group discussion. Books are chosen by the book club members and a list for the year is drawn up by late summer. The selection of books is quite eclectic and and includes both fiction and non-fiction titles.

If you are interested in joining our book club (you do not need to be a church member) please contact our office by phone or email.

Cleanup Parties

Book ClubThis is how we have fun AND do something useful at the same time. We celebrated Earth Day by doing a cleanup of a long section of Century Road. We filled many bags with assorted garbage and an equal number with recycleable pop bottles and beer cans.

It was really nice to get enouraging waves and honks from drivers who passed us while we worked!

Lunches

Book ClubWe organize soup or chili lunches periodically in our church hall. Come and join us for some delicious home made soup (or chili), bread and a cup of coffee or tea with something sweet to follow. Lunch is free but you are invited to make a donation to cover costs.

Check our calendar to see when our next lunch event is scheduled.

Outings

Book ClubChurch can be way more than just coming along on a Sunday morning (although we love to see you then too). At Manotick United Church we like to get out and do things together any day of the week.

Recent outings have included a trip to sample the pancakes at Wheelers Sugar Bush, and walking on the trails at Ferguson Forest.
