Tuesday June 20th
The next book club meeting is June 20 at 6:00pm and it will be an in-person session, at the church, as we will be joined, virtually, by the author Waubgeshig Rice! The meeting will start with some light refreshments, and then everyone will meet in the sanctuary where Waubgeshig will be available to talk about his book as well as answer any questions.
"The Moon of the Crusted Snow" is a daring post-apocalyptic thriller from a powerful rising literary voice. With winter looming, a small northern Anishinaabe community goes dark. Cut off, people become passive and confused. Panic builds as the food supply dwindles. While the band council and a pocket of community members struggle to maintain order, an unexpected visitor arrives, escaping the crumbling society to the south. Soon after, others follow.
