Friends and Neighbours
On Wednesday Dec 18th, MACAW launched its new program "Friends & Neighbours" with a lunch and entertainment in the lower hall of the church. Many thanks to the church's Kitchen Kapers group and numerous volunteers who prepared and served a delicious soup and sandwich lunch. After eating, we listened to a medley of Christmas songs performed by Terry McGovern and his band. Over 70 guest were in attendance at this kick off event including our local councillor, David Brown.
Friends and Neighbours is a program designed to bring alone and isolated members of our community together on a regular basis, with a focus on spending time with each other to foster a sense of belonging. This program has been made possible by a generous grant from the United Church of Canada regional Vision & Transformation funding source.
Vision and Transformation funding from the Eastern Ontario Outaouais Regional Council (EOORC) supports Communities of Faith seeking to engage in new ministry projects to enhance their presence in the community.
