Fiddles On The RideauSunday August 27th

On Sunday afternoon several members of our church family participated in the Ottawa Pride Parade. As a church that strives to be inclusive and welcoming we felt it important to have a visible presence in the parade. We gathered on Laurier Street for a scheduled start time of 1:30pm and waited patiently in the hot sunshine until 2:30pm when we were finally ushered into the parade lineup just behind a group from Parkdale United Church.

The parade was a wonderful experience for everyone who was there as a participant or as a spectator. There were many organizations, companies and groups that were demonstrating their support for the 2SLGBTQ+ community by joining in the parade festivities and the streets of downtown Ottawa were lined with thousands of enthusiastic supporters. The atmosphere was really special and we were glad to be there. Many thanks to Merylee Sevilla who designed and sponsored our banner - we were proud to march behind it.
